Just some Gale & Katniss Dialogues {from The Hunger Games}
Gale: We could do it you know.Katniss: What?
Gale: Leave the district. Run off. Live in the woods. You and I, we could make it.
Gale: If we didn’t have so many kids.
******************************************
Katniss: I never want to have any kids.
Gale: I might. If I didn’t live here.
Katniss: But you do.
Gale: Forget it.
******************************************
Katniss: See you in the square.
Gale: Wear something pretty.
******************************************
Gale: Katniss, it’s just hunting. You’re the best hunter I know.
******************************************
Gale: You know how to kill.
Katniss: Not people.
Gale: How different can it be, really?
Just some Katniss and Peeta moments wherein they talk about Gale. :] (From The Hunger Games, book one by Suzanne Collins)
“Your friend Gale. He’s the one who took your sister away at the reaping?” p#84 “She’s just worried of her boyfriend,” says Peeta gruffly, tossing away a bloody piece of the urn. p#136 I wonder what Gale made of the incident for a moment and then I push the whole thing out of my mind because for some reason Gale and Peeta do not coexist well together in my thoughts. p#197
“Yes. Do you know him?” I ask.
“Not really. I hear the girls talk about him a lot. I thought he was your cousin or something. You favor each other,” he says.
My cheeks burn again at the thought of Gale. “I don’t have a boyfriend.”
What’s you name?” he said, coming over and disengaging the rabbit from the snare. “Katniss,” I said, barely audible. “Well, Catnip, stealing’s punishable by death, or hadn’t you heard?” he said. “Katniss,” I said louder. “And I wasn’t stealing it. I just wanted to look at your snare. Mine never catch anything.” Gale’s eyes fastened on the bow. “Can I see that?” I handed it over. “Just remember, stealing’s punishable by death.”
That was the first time I ever saw him smile. It transformed him from someone menacing to someone you wished you knew. But it took several months before I returned that smile.
pg #110-111 The Hunger Games
I can’t help comparing what I have with Gale to what I’m pretending to have with Peeta. How I never question Gale’s motives while I do nothing but doubt the latter’s. It’s not a fair comparison really. Gale and I were thrown together by a mutual need to survive.
pg #112 The Hunger Games
I think of Gale without me. Both of us can hunt alone, but we’re better as a pair.
pg #189 The Hunger Games
Gale is mine. I am his. Anything else is unthinkable.
